Westie cross Bella on a cushion

Bella

This 8-year-old Westie cross looks like she’s just about to hop off her cushion and enjoy one of her walks at Potterne Park, where good paths, bins, open space and a tree-shaded shallow stream make it a favourite for many local dog owners.

Golden retriever Hugo

Hugo

Golden Retriever Hugo loves to keep an eye out for any prospective friends when walking locally – just in case they are ready for one his cuddles. Even better if they have a biscuit!

Hugo enjoys a good run around West Moors woodlands and walks all around Ferndown. That’s the home of ‘The Old Thatch’ pub – featured in the dog-friendly pages!

German Shepherd Sookie

Sookie

Sookie is a 2-year-old German Shepherd, a rescue from the Chinese meat trade. Michael and Sabrina told us that she is lovely and very sociable and that she gets over-excited but only because she is finally loving life and making new friends. They said “She is a powerful dog with a soft heart and she is a true blessing”.

Mini Schnauzer Clover

Clover

Clover and Willow are Miniature Schnauzers who love walking where there is water, mud and squirrels! Sally says that she prefers the beach… less mud and no squirrels!

Mini schanuzer Willow

and Willow

Clover and Willow’s favourite walks are along the beach in the Winter and riverside in the Summer.

They regularly walk at Canford Heath, Upton Country Park, Poole Beaches, Canford Park SANG, Broadstone Rec and Potterne Park, you can find most of those on the ‘out and about’ pages.

Goldie Ollie

Ollie

This Golden Retriever leads with his nose and stomach rather than his head! Elma told us that Ollie has a big heart and wouldn’t hurt a fly.

Two greyhounds in the water

King, Tilly, Titch and Yoda

King (14), Tilly (9), Titch (6) and Yoda (6) are retired racing greyhounds who found their lifetime home via Greyhound Lifeline. Amy says that they like to spend 23 hours asleep on the sofa in various positions but do like a good run chasing each other or a football. Looks like they’re not averse to a bit of a splash either!

Goldie Oly looking very wet!

Oly

Oly is another one who absolutely loves swimming, so during the summer months Luciana likes to take him for riverside walks like those at Mere or Sturminster Newton Old Mill.

and not forgetting…..

Bailey and Max, a young Cocker Spaniel and 7-year-old Newfoundland/Collie cross regularly walk at Kinson Common and sometimes at dog-friendly Canford Park SANG, where they can enjoy off-lead exercise all year round. Bailey loves water and long grass and Max loves the beach and cheese.

Scooby is a Clumberdoodle from Verwood, he’s just 3 cuddly months old.

Bella the Lab is a regular visitor to Upton Country Park, where she can enjoy the off-lead fields and woods and have a splash in the streams during hot weather!

Danson, a Lurcher, enjoys walking at Queens Park, Slades Farm, Hurn Forest, Talbot Woods and Upton Country Park. Leanne told us that Danson is a super-friendly pup who loves running with his doggy pals and chasing his ball which is his absolute favourite thing. He enjoys open spaces and woodland runs, particularly if there is dirty water! They are always looking for new and exciting places to visit, so we’d love to see them at guided walkies, and they can check out different places on the out and about pages too!

Molly is a crossbreed who likes to walk at Bourne Valley Nature Reserve. Her favourite places are Sandbanks beach and Upton Country Park, both of these have large off-lead dog-friendly areas all year round.

Loki and Odin are young Working Cocker Spaniels. They are very active, cheeky dogs who love a long walk and can find water anywhere. They regularly walk at Upton Country Park and their favourite place is Wareham Forest.

Milo is a well-travelled Working Cocker Spaniel from Bath, including walks around the Dorset Coast as a regular visitor to Poole. When visiting Dorset his favourite places to walk are the beaches at Studland, Sandbanks, Branksome Chine and Chesil Beach, as well as Upton Country Park.

Yoshi is a 6 month old Cockapoo who enjoys Weymouth seafront & those areas of the beach (like the Pavilion area and Preston Road beach) where dogs are allowed.

Darcey is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Anna says that she is a gentle, friendly, sweet little girl who loves making new friends and that sniffs are more important to her than long walks. Darcy enjoys some lovely walks around Dorchester where there are lots of pet-friendly pubs and coffee shops who know Darcy and always give her a treat. Lucky Darcy!

Buddy and Vinnie are Jack Russells of just 3.5 & 4 months old, they regularly walk at the Milldown Nature Reserve and their favourite places to walk are Tarrant Rushton Airfield and Badbury Rings.
