Birds who nest on the ground? Yes it’s true! Young wildlife are very active now and lovely Theodore knows how we can help some of Britain’s rarest birds:

1. Be aware of where birds may be nesting low or on the ground:  especially heathlands, wetlands & some downs.

2. Keep ourselves and our dogs on the paths in those places or go to off-lead places like Canford Park SANG, Upton Country Park, Riversmeet Meadows…

Even friendly dogs may scare parent birds away from their nests leaving eggs or chicks exposed to predators or cold, so look out for signs that tell you there may be birds nesting on the ground and what to do to keep them safe.  For more info check out: Wagi-do-code

We met up with Frankie, the new Poole Harbour Recreation Mitigation Warden at the end of Autumn last year to find out more and we’ll be sharing that in a video very soon.

Welcome to a new working week and to #BrewMonday Welcome to a new working week and to #BrewMonday

Staying connected with loved ones is more challenging and more important than ever, so why not take time out of your day, grab a brew, pick up the phone or make a video call and get in touch with someone to say hello. Bramble and Harry have!
So, we are all struggling with lockdown in the mid So, we are all struggling with lockdown in the middle of winter but wanted to say thank you for doing your bit and staying at home. To make us all smile we would like to make a montage of all your walkies.

In order to do this we would like you to send in:
- a max 5 second clip of your socially distanced walk
- filmed in portrait, so holding it upright
- featuring just your dog
- and of course only if it's safe to do so and following current guidelines

Send your clip in a message to Dorset Dogs. We will try and include everybody but otherwise will choose clips at random. Then, with the magic of technology and some very clever colleagues, splice it all together to make a short virtual walk that we can all share!
Happy New Year to you all and to get you started f Happy New Year to you all and to get you started for 2021!
