Walking outside – Government advice to safeguard your health and that of other people from 8.30pm Monday 23 March – so that includes no more than one session of exercise outside the home once a day, on your own or with members of your household, maintaining a distance of at least 2m from others.

Official answer from Devon, Cornwall and Dorset Police Comms department regarding whether people can drive somewhere to walk their dog if it is difficult to social distance walking directly from your home:

“The guidance is not to leave home unless for one of the four reasons. People shouldn’t be driving to alternative locations to exercise themselves or their pets, but should do this from home I.e. walk around near their house. Additional journeys can potentially result in collisions, placing unnecessary stress on the NHS”.

If there are any updates to this advice we will post them.
