Love Dogs... Love Nature

April 2018 New Members

IF you send in a photo of your dog when you join online you will automatically be one of our 'Dogs of the Month'!

Did you know Dogs of the Month have their own special class at Dorset Dogs' annual Festival?

Don't forget we'd LOVE to see you with your dog in the photos too!

Welcome to our April members.....

Bear 2055

Bear is a 5 month old Tibetan Mastiff from Bournemouth who enjoys walks at Hengistbury Head.

During the spring & summer months we're asked by local Rangers to inform people about where they need to be aware of birds nesting on the grounds on heaths or other specialised habitats - at this time of year dogs need to stay on the paths with us in those areas.

Check out the 'out & about' pages to find off-lead places to go, all-year round dog-friendly beaches and more information about nature reserves and their wildlife too!

George 2055

and George

George, a 7 year old Chocolate Labrador cross lives with Bear and they both love the sea.

Amber 2056

This 9 year old Tibetan Spaniel from Suffolk normally walks on Lowestoft Beach but enjoys walks at Hengistbury Head when in Dorset.

PJ told us that Amber is a rescue dog who was 3 year old when she joined the family. She enjoys playing with the grandchildren whether it is ruff and tumble or a quiet cuddle.

Blossom 2058

Blossom is a 15 month old German Shepherd from Poole who walks at West Moors and in Parkstone.

Jackie told us that Blossom is a young and very reactive (although this can be selective) dog. She is lovely with people and children and also at dog training class and Jackie is working hard with her.

The Yellow Dog Project aims to bring awareness to dogs who need space. There is information about the Yellow Dog Scheme in the Wagipawdia.

Spot 2060

This 7 year old Whippet Cross regularly walks at the Stour Valley Nature Reserve. Walking by the River Stour is one of his favourite things to do - wonderful wildlife and very dog friendly.

In the Autumn and Spring, Spot loves the beach but in Summer it's a walk by the river or the New Forest.

Lottie 2063

Lottie is a 3 year old Cockapoo from Somerset who walks in Bincombe Beeches in Crewkerne, Ham Hill and Ninesprings and suggests Burton Bradstock as a great dog walking site.  Yvonne says that she is glad that Lottie is well behaved because they like to take her everywhere they go.

Lola 2064

This 5 year old Basset cross Cocker Spaniel loves the beach even though she is afraid of the sea.

Lola enjoys walks in Mosterton and on the coast, particularly West Bay and Burton Bradstock when dogs are allowed on the beach.

Max 2065

Max is a 10 year old Border Collie from Milborne St Andrew who enjoys walks at Hengistbury Head in the winter.

Meg 2065

Meg is an 11 year old Border Collie who lives with Max.

Meg was with the Dogs Trust for 18 months and was incredibly scared of anything new. Joanne says that '6 years on we are still making progress. She amazes me'.

The Fab Four Kai Rosie Ruby Lani 2066

The Fab Four

The Fab Four - otherwise known as Kai, Rosie, Ruby and Lani.

These four are Continental Cavapoos that have travelled widely through Europe including Germany, Croatia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic last Summer. In the winter they are 'Pups on the Piste' and join their humans skiiing in the Italian Alps.

Despite all this globetrotting, their favourite view in the world is Hengistbury Head!

Tia 2070

A 3 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who struggles with first impressions but after a few minutes in the company of another dog is fantastic and loves to play.

Tia walks on Highcliffe on Sea when it's quiet, Fawcett Fields in New Milton and also uses the Wild and Free Dog Meadows - which features in the Wagipawdia along with other securely fenced sites.

Charlie 2071

Charlie, a 1 year 4 month old German Shepherd regularly walks around the field near the Police Headquarters and loves walks at Upton Country Park and along Lulworth Cove.

Gemma told us that Charlie is a 'super happy chap and a little boisterous sometimes.' He loves playing with all kinds of different dogs and gets super excited to meet them.

Buddy 2072

Buddy, a 3 year old Siberian Husky is, according to Hayley, everyone's best buddy and gets on with everyone he meets.

Buddy walks all over but regularly at beaches in Highcliffe, Burley, New Forest, Stanpit Marsh and Hengistbury Head.

Frankie 2074

This 4 and a half year old Minature Dachshund loves all other dogs and humans - he gets along with everyone.

Frankie walks on the beach, Tilbury Nature Reserve, Stour River, Whitecliff and Baiter Park.

Soren 2075

And finally, 3 year old Border Collie, Soren who loves a good run - so long as there is space he is happy.

RALPHY is a 7.5 month old French Bulldog cross Boston Bull Terrier, whose favourite places are Knyveton Gardens and the beautiful gardens all around Bournemouth. Ralphy also enjoys lovely long walks up and down the beach, particularly Sandbanks which he loves travelling to using the ferry.

CASSIE an 8 month old Springador from Oxford who usually walks in parks and woodlands so the beaches and sea will be a new adventure.

LEXI the Cocker Spaniel loves the beach especially Sandbanks and can often be found walking at Bytheway Field.

MINNIE  is a 10 week old Poochon from Upton. Minnie loves exploring and being around other dogs but as she has only been able to walk in the last few days, she has only experienced the dog walking area at Upton Country Park.

JOE the Border Collie from Wimborne likes plenty of long woodland walks with Badbury Rings being a favourite.

BUDDY a 2 year old Shichi from Bournemouth enjoys walks at St Catherine's Hill, Kings Park and Strouden Park. Deborah told us that 'he's an energetic little fella who could walk for hours up St Catherine's Hill (his favourite walk) but still isn't brave enough to get his feet wet in the pond.
