Love Dogs... Love Nature

March 2013's new members

Nettie3

Nettie is a Labrador Retriever cross who came from Dogs for the Disabled in Banbury, Michael says she is not only his assistance dog but also a wonderful friend.

Nettie loves walking with Michael in Cannonhill Woods, (between Ferndown & Wimborne) & also at the Bytheway Field (off Leigh Road near Colehill) - exciting smells and water!

Prince

Prince is a soulful chap who likes water, other dogs and 'anyone who has food' - aha - a labrador!

Simon says some of Prince's favourite walks include Thornicombe Woods, Poundbury, Greggs Bakery and the meat counter at Waitrose - hmmmm!

 Cola

Cola is a 7 year old who loves her ball.  She enjoys walking at Worbarrow Bay and Badbury Rings (Petra tells us there is a dog-friendly pub nearby) & also the North Dorset Trailway

  Dylan

...and here's Dylan who had a hard time as a puppy but Hayley says he has turned out to be 'the loveliest dog ever'!

Trudi

Trudi is so uniquely beautiful... and apparently a 'born comedian' too!

Favourite walking places with Jean include Studland Beach, Milton Abbas & nearby woodlands.

Bertie Sunglasses

Bertie is a working Cocker who evidently takes good care of his eyes!  Another fan of the North Dorset Trailway'we are lucky to have such a beautiful and well-maintained local resource' says Jon.

Pickle Merlin Toby Taz

Pickle, Merlin, Toby & Taz live with Kerry and love to walk in lots of different places - favourites include Strouden Park, Queens Park, Potterne Park & Moors Valley and Mudeford beach - no wonder they're queueing up at the door ready for the next one!

Nell at seaside

Wow! This is beautiful Nell, she glories in the full name of Southcombe Summer Love. She lives in Wiltshire with Sue but enjoys visiting Dorset, including Studland.  Sue tells us Nell is 'a nature conservation dog, she helps (on a lead) with butterfly transects, dormouse monitoring, bird survey work and coppicing' - wow again!  Sounds like Nell has lots of opportunity to enjoy life outdoors.

Arnie

Arnie is a handsome newcomer to Dorset with housemates Tilly & Rodnie, and Gary tells us they are hoping to find out about great places to walk locally -  they 'walk really well to heel & have fantastic recall' - happy exploring!

emily

Emily joined last month and has now sent in this lovely photo - Brenda says she is a friendly Jack Russell who adores children - but the same can't be said for cats or squirrels!

tyler

Graham tells us Tyler has quite a story, so here it is, complete with happy ending: 'Tyler is a Rescued Dog, his story is horrific. His breeder got him back from the person who had purchased him as he had been caged and muzzled virtually 24/7.

He was in a terible state and Becky spent 2 months trying to get his diet and condition better. He was thin and had worn cuts and fur missing from his nose from being muzzled. He was apparently 'very aggressive'. After finding out about Tyler 4 weeks ago I agreed to have Tyler for the future as he was now ready to move on.

He is now a different dog, I socialise now as often as I can by taking him everywhere with me. The neighbours all love him and he has not an 'aggressive' bone in his body.

We still have a way to go but Tyler is so intelligent and loving and he loves to play now. After an accident last year that has disabled me in some ways, he is  aware of my limitations already and we are now inseparable'.
