Large woodland with lots of choices as there are a multitude of tracks and paths, with some open areas, streams and great views. The plantation is Forestry Commission woodland and is also crossed by the Castleman Trailway.
Many tracks are surfaced though not tarmaced and some of the paths will be accessible for pushchairs for example.
There has been a particular problem with pick-up bags being left on site here and other dog walkers as well as the folk who look after the woodland ask that everyone does ensure they pick up and take away the bags if there is not a bin available at that location.
Cannon Hill & Uddens woodlands is split by the A31 but there is a footbridge so it is possible to take long walks around the woodland.
There is an active Friends group who have carried out lots of great work here, making it easier for people to visit and enjoy the woods. Find out more about the woods and the Friends of Uddens and Cannon Hill woodlands by following this link.
