Meet at the playing field St. John Way at the edge of Poundbury and the walk will be for max. 1 hour and ending for refreshments at ‘The Duchess of Cornwall’ pub, which is dog-friendly. The pub is 5 minutes walk away from the starting point.
The plan is to walk up the playing field and across the road to the Poundbury Hill Fort. The fields there offer off-the-lead runs for the hounds and beautiful views across the River Frome valley.
However, if there are cows in the fields on the day, we will have to divert our walk through Poundbury’s other dog-friendly areas. Owners decide at their own risk if and when they let their dogs off lead. And remember to bring poo bags.
Non-greyhounds are welcomed from a family with a sighthound who will supervise them. ?
There is free parking available in the area. A suggested donation of £2 for Forever Hounds Trust would be welcome.
