Lake Pier car park
Meet at the Lake Pier car park BH15 4LR near Poole Harbour Canoe Club – with or without dogs – you’re welcome! Do not trust sat nav to find it, this one can be misleading.
A circular guided walkies along the off-lead beach then returning over Ham Common heathland paths – we’ll have beautiful views over Poole Harbour towards the Purbeck Hills. A local ranger from Poole Heathlands will be joining us to tell us more about Ham Common and the wildlife there.
Lake Pier is an all-year-round dog-friendly beach with heathland backing on to it, find out more here (but ignore the postcode on the page it’s wrong!) http://new.poole.gov.uk/sports-and-leisure/beaches/our-beaches/lake-pier-beach/
There is a run of steps between the beach and common the walk is suitable for children but this one is not accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
Message if you need more details or just meet us there!
Dorset Dogs walkies are a chance for dogs to enjoy each others company – and for their humans to do the same!
At this time of year we also highlight the need to be aware of how to help flocks of coastal birds who may have a hard winter ahead – it’s mainly about keeping ourselves and our dogs at a distance so they can rest and feed without frequent disturbance (not just from dogs but walkers, fishers, bait diggers, boats…) help us by taking a 7 question survey and find out how else you can help them https://www.dorsetdogs.org.uk/wagipawdia/dogs-birds-around-our-winter-coasts/
