Meet at the car park next to Bankes Arms Inn, Manor Road, Studland BH19 3AU.

Note that the ferry may still not be available to travel across from Poole direction, so check and leave enough time for bus or car travel around.

This is a lovely long Dorset Dogs walk with National Trust ranger David. Come prepared with layers – it’s windier on the coast and hilltops! Comfortable, sturdy and weatherproof footwear is a really good idea too, and towels for the car. There are some long slopes to negotiate up and down the Purbeck ridge – but the views are worth it! We take stops and won’t be marching.

Come the whole way or just join us as far as Old Harry – so an hour or about 2 (ish)! Off-lead on beach and on the downs in any areas without grazing animals, leads needed for by the cliffs and sheep/cattle. Check out the various albums on Dorset Dogs Facebook for photos from previous years.

Bankes Arms is dog-friendly if you require sustenance afterwards…

Dorset Dogs walkies are a chance for dogs to enjoy each others company – and for their humans to do the same!

At this time of year we also highlight the need to be aware of how to help flocks of coastal birds who may have a hard winter ahead – it’s mainly about keeping ourselves and our dogs at a distance so they can rest and feed without frequent disturbance (not just from dogs but walkers, fishers, bait diggers, boats…) help us by taking a 7 question survey and find out how else you can help them https://www.dorsetdogs.org.uk/wagipawdia/dogs-birds-around-our-winter-coasts/
