Dogs running across grass and people on the path with trees in the background
Join us on a walkies to explore this beautiful countryside, a place where dogs are especially welcomed and may be off-lead all year round. This is the venue for Dorset Dogs Festival 2019 (17 Aug).
A large area with good paths, free parking, dog bins, benches, a large securely fenced area with trees for shade and all in a gorgeous riverside setting. 2m height barrier into car park but there are a couple of spaces just outside the gates or on adjacent lane if your vehicle is higher, (allow extra 5 mins to walk down drive). Canford Park is on part of the old Canford Magna golf course, Knighton Lane off Magna Road. Opposite new development. Nb not the Canford Park Arena!
A great walk for this time of year if you’re looking for places your dog can have a good off-lead run – on heaths, downs and wetlands some rarer birds who nest on the ground are rearing young so we need to keep our dogs on paths in those areas – at Upton Country Park off-lead fields they can run freely off the paths. Find out more about ground-nesting birds here https://www.dorsetdogs.org.uk/wagipawdia/doggy-do-code/
Check out previous walks and any walkies updates at www.facebook.com/dorsetdogs

Dorset Dogs walkies are free, fun and friendly – with or without dogs – you’re welcome!

  1. I dont agree with dogs off the lead as tend to be a nuisance to my little dog who is always on the lead in full control by me, my previous dog who was always on a lead was petrified by other large dogs coming into her face.
