Love Dogs... Love Nature

March 2018 New Members

IF you send in a photo of your dog when you join online you will automatically be one of our 'Dogs of the Month'!

Did you know Dogs of the Month have their own special class at Dorset Dogs' annual Festival?

Don't forget we'd LOVE to see you with your dog in the photos too!

Welcome to our March members.....

Reg Bob

Reg and Bob

Reg and Bob are 3 and 2 year old Norfolk Terriers. Sarah told us that Reg and Bob are great fun and particularly enjoy their walks especially if there are fish to be found on the beach.

They enjoy walks at Sherborne Castle, Studland Beach and West Bay and particularly Burton Bradstock so that they can pop into the cafe after.

During the spring & summer months we're asked by local Rangers to inform people about where they need to be aware of birds nesting on the grounds on heaths or other specialised habitats - at this time of year dogs need to stay on the paths with us in those areas.

Check out the 'out & about' pages to find off-lead places to go, all-year round dog-friendly beaches and more information about nature reserves and their wildlife too!

These three Shih Tzus from Mansfield are aged between 3 and 8 and normally walk in Sherwood Pines.

They will be on holiday in Dorset this year and so will be looking for lots of dog friendly places to visit. Wendy told us that they'll be doing a lot of walking and will hopefully find some great beaches and places to eat where the girls are welcome too.

If you are new to the area or a visitor on holiday and want to explore Dorset with your dogs you will find lots of great walks on the Out & About pages of the website. For information about dog friendly cafes, restaurants and pubs, visitor attractions and accommodation visit the Dog Friendly page.

Welcome to to everyone else who's joined this month:

JAKEY a 5 year old Yorkshire Terrier from Bournemouth who loves the enclosed doggy park and walking at Slades Farm.

MERLIN is a German Shepherd from Wallisdown, who Victoria says is a '4 year old puppy'.

BARNEY is still getting used to his new family and walks in Dorset. This 1 year old Labrador walks regularly on the beach and in the forest in the Purbecks.

POPPY from Broadstone is a 5 year old Labrador cross. Mrs Booth told us that they like to take Poppy everywhere with them so they tend to visit places where dogs are permitted. Poppy enjoys walks on Upton Heath and beaches.

ALFIE and BONNIE a 3 year old Schichon and 4 year old Bichon Frise who love the beach where they can run free and play but are not keen on the sea and stay clear. As well as the beach they regularly walk at Upton Country Park.

BAILEY the Cockapoo from Pokesdown likes to walk on the beach, at Queens Park, Hengistbury Head, St Catherine's Hill, Hurn Forest and Iford. Emma told us that Bailey is reactive and nervous of certain things on his walks. He has done really well, loves playing with other dogs and is much more relaxed when around other dogs. Bailey enjoys walks with lots of trees for exploring.
