Victoria says this little 5 year old Chihuahua '.. is a rescue who was found in a terrible state who was scared of her own shadow and would shake through fear'. Now she has found her confidence and loves to sing, do tricks and visit the Dorset beaches.

Gino is a 7 month old Jack Russell Cross who is a regular on Turbary Common and recommends the beaches in south-east Dorset

Poppy, a Border Collie Cross, and her owners will shortly be moving to Dorset from Essex.

They are looking forward to discovering new places to walk and explore when they move.

Ted is one half of a pair of Border Terriers from East Lulworth.

He is 2 years old and Jackie says 'a happy little chap'.

Is the other half. 

A 13 year old Border Terrier who enjoys walks with Ted on Studland Beach.  

Dogs are welcome on Studland's beaches all year round. Between 1st May and 30th September dogs must be on a lead (max 2 metres) - at all other times dogs under effective control are welcome off lead.  Find out more about 'one of the most stunning beaches in England' as described by the NT Visitor Guide on our Out & About page.

Lots of young pups joining Dorset Dogs this Summer, this is India, a 3 month old Labrador from Poole. Isabel told us that India loves to make new friends.

India regularly walks in Rockley and also enjoys the beautiful Bluebell Woods at Pamphill.

Another youngster, this 4 month old Baxter from Corfe Mullen. 

Baxter regularly walks at Whitecliff and Hamworthy and recommends Upton Country Park for a good circular route. Find out more about Upton Country Park including the 2 big off lead areas, in one you'll also find a securely fenced area where you can train or exercise your dog -  Upton Country Park

Luna is a 3 month old Puggle from Bournemouth who regularly walks in the Canford Heath area and is another fan of Studland Beach.

Our heaths are such special areas - some of Dorset Dogs' funding actually comes from developers who build near the heaths, so that we can let people know how to make sure we don't have negative impacts on the wildlife who live there - check out the doggy do code and you can make sure you enjoy the heaths and all sorts of areas whilst protecting the wildlife, special features and other visitors!

This 5 month old Labradoodle is a regular on the Bournemouth Beaches and Gardens. Daniel says that they 'love going to the beach all year round, there are always plenty of dog walkers to chat to and dogs to play with'.

Wellington joined early in 2016 when he was 3 months old.....hasn't he grown!

We are guessing that as a Springer Spaniel, Wellington is still swimming mad and enjoying the splash stream at Upton Country Park.

June describes Rory the West Highland Terrier as 'a mature 10 year old who still gets into lots of michief'. Rory can regularly be found getting into mischief at Verwood and the New Forest and loves a walk at Rockford Common and Hengistbury Head.

Blu the 8 month old Labrador from Bournemouth is very bouncy and loves people.  He enjoys regular walks around Kings Park.

Cookie is a 9 year old Cocker Spaniel / Jack Russell from Hitchin in Hertfordshire.  Cookie loves walking by the sea and is a regular to the Dorset beaches when visiting.

Bertie the Border Terrier from Ferndown loves Spring and Summer time walks on the beach particularly Hengistbury Head, meeting other dogs in his local woodland and a trip down to the Jazz Cafe in Sandbanks.

Sandbanks Beach West is off-lead dog-friendly all year round - find it on the 'Out & About' pages.

Harper is a 3.5 month old German Shorthaired Pointer from Christchurch who lives with Riley. Harper wants to be friends with everyone she meets and Julia says that although she is only a pup she has great recall already.

This 7 year old German Shorthaired Pointer loves being in the water and chasing after his ball or frisbee in the sea.

Harper and Riley are regular walkers at Hengistbury Head.

Another puppy joining Dorset Dogs, 3 month old Labrador / Vizla cross Gizmo from Poole. Emily-Mae describes Gizmo as 'cute, cuddly, playful and a bundle of energy'. Gizmo likes to burn off some of that puppy energy at Poole Park.

Frenchie 1877

Annette says of Frenchie, a 10 year old Giant Schnauzer, that she is reluctant on lead and prefers to walk off lead as much as possible although Frenchie always stays close by.  

Walks include Parley Common, Avon Heath and Ramsdown, which Annette describes as good in all weathers.  We are welcome on these heathland sites if we follow the doggy do code - and if we want a good off path run during the season when birds are nesting on the ground there are ideas for places to go on the out and about pages.

This 2 year old Sprocker Spaniel has an important job as a Ranger Dog joining Rebecca at work for the National Trust in Purbeck.  Cookie loves walking along the South West Coast Path.

Jennifer describes Daisy as 'The kindest, most loving dog who loves nothing better than eating and snoring in front of an open fire'. We're with you there Daisy! 

This 10 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier likes to walk in Bournemouth Gardens and Branksome Woods.

Sssshhhh....here is Tom catching up on his beauty sleep after a busy week at work at the office with Sheena.  When 3 year old Border Collie Tom is not napping he enjoys a walk at Hengistbury Head and in the New Forest.

 

Morris 1885

And someone else snoozing is 14 year old Jack Russell Terrier, Morris. Very sadly Morris recently lost his long term friend Mini but he is loving life and coming to terms with not having her around.  

Morris likes to walk at Turlin Field, Upton Park and Rockley Park.

Border Terrier Cross Molly is a feisty lady according to Linda. She loves being off the lead and is very friendly.  Linda and Molly would recommend a walk from Potterne Park through to Moors Valley Country Park.  They also enjoy walking at Woolslope Bottom.

 

Benji 1887

Last but not least of our new photo members taking us to the end of July 2017 is Benji is a 5 month old English Springer Spaniel who is Yvonne's latest 'cheeky show Springer'. Benji enjoys a walk around Slop Bog, and Yvonne told us that she loves this SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and has been walking there for the last 33 years.

NORA an 8 month old Airedale Terrier who loves walking at Redhill Common, Bytheway Field and Durley Chine beach

ZIGGY ​a young English Springer Spaniel who enjoys regular walks in Upton Country Park, Wareham Forest and the Poole beaches

MAX a 4 month old Dachshund from Poole. Chloe says that as 'Max is new to walking they like to go to different places so that he can meet new dogs and people'. His favourite walks are around Poole Park and Whitecliffe.

TEDDY and TILLY are 4 month old Border Collies from Swanage who regularly walk in Wilkswood.

BENJI a 7 year old Border Collie is another newcomer to the area and loves visiting local parks and beaches to play with his tennis ball.

WALTER a Bull Mastiff / Staffie cross. Francesca says "Walter is a big, cuddly teddy bear. He loves all other dogs and has lots of doggy friends. He regularly does fun dog shows where he always wins rosettes. His favourite things to do are sunbathing, playing football, sleeping, eating, watching David Attenborough on TV and of course lots of cuddles."

NED is another Summer pup at just 4 months old, this Sprocker is already enjoying walks in Wareham Forest, Studland and Upton Heath.

MOLLY a 9 year old Labrador is another regular walker at Wareham Forest and Studland.

MILLIE loves to go anywhere she can run and play with her ball and this 5 year old Cocker Spaniel particularly likes Upton Country Park. 

MINNIE from Bournemouth is a 2 year old Paterdale Terrier cross. Gemma and Minnie have recently started agility and are both really enjoying it. They like to walk along the River Stour, Slades Farm, Hurn Forest and the beach.

MADDOCK is a Welsh Springer Spaniel puppy from Verwood and at 3 months old is beginning to explore East Dorset.

LOLA ROSE from Poole is a 1 year old Working Cocker Spaniel who enjoys walking at Upton Country Park and Hamworthy Park.

HUMPHREY is a 1 year Labrador from Poole who loves walking along the beach and in particular Studland or Branksome Beach.

CHLOE and POPPY are 2 year old Border Collies from Wimborne who enjoy walks at Potterne Park and Moors Valley.  

MAGGIE is our youngest joiner at just 10 weeks old.  This Minature Dachshund is not quite ready for walks yet but Carole Ann will be taking her for some lovely walks in the countryside.
