Caring Canines is a local non-profit making voluntary group working in the community helping people of all ages and abilities to understand dogs and be confident in their company. We offer the medical profession the assistance of our assessed, vaccinated and insured dogs to break down barriers and to enhance the lives of those people who miss canine companionship, we work with mental health units and provide educational programmes/support to local Primary Schools.

Our assistance dogs support adults (age 17+) and children (age 7 – 16) with a range of disabilities and also children with autism (age 3 – 10).

Our Family Dog service gives advice and support to help families with a child with autism get the most out of their relationship with their pet dog

We train and support community dogs and their specialist handlers to work in activity and therapy in communities and schools.

Dorset Search Dogs is a charity assisting the Police, Coastguard and other Search and Rescue teams look for missing persons across the South.

Our dedicated team of dogs, handlers and operational supports make themselves available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As members of Lowland Rescue we work closely with neighbouring Lowland Rescue Search Dog teams.

Our members are all trained to levels specified by Lowland Rescue and each dog and handler is individually assessed to the high standards agreed by the Lowland Rescue Committee.
